Fremont Conservation District is offering a one-time cost-share opportunity to implement conservation projects or educational events in 2025 and 2026. (Note: this opportunity is separate from our regular cost-share).
General Guidelines:
- Applications will be reviewed by the FCD Board of Supervisors for approval. If awarded, project work can begin in April of 2025 and must be all the way completed by June 2026. NOTE! All project work must take place between April 2025 and June 2026, or else be disqualified from funding.
Eligible Practices may include, but are not limited to:
- Irrigation pipe, valves, headgates, driplines or other similar irrigation/water conservation practices.
- Seeding and re-seeding for cover crops and erosion control.
- Fencing for rotational grazing, VENCE, ect.
- Small acreage/ urban Ag projects such as high tunnels,.
- Pinon juniper mitigation/rangeland recovery
- Educational studies, workshops, other events.
- Other proposals that fit natural resource conservation or agricultural production assistance, and your needs! (This is a chance to propose that project you've been thinking about for a while now!)
- This one-time opportunity can be used to cover contracted labor costs.
- Applicants must be landowners in the District boundaries. (Ditch companies are encouraged to contact the District office separately).
- All proposals are subject to review and approval by the Fremont Conservation District Board of Supervisors.
20:80 Cost-Share:
- This one-time opportunity is a 20/80 cost-share rate. So, if your project total is $1,000 the Conservation District will pay $800, and you will be responsible for the other $200.
- Maximum amount paid by the District for a single proposal is $5,000 (so project total would be at least $6,250. The total can be higher, but the max payout from the District is $5,000).
- Cost-share projects are paid upon completion. Meaning you will need to complete your project in the required timeline, then turn in your receipts to receive your 80% reimbursement.
Deadline for Submission:
- Deadline for proposals is 4pm Tuesday February 4th, 2025.
Next Steps:
- Once you have submitted your proposal, the District office will reach out to confirm that we have received your application, or to find out more information. Some applications may require free technical assistance/a site visit from our District Technician.
- The proposals will be presented to the Board at our February meeting. All applicants will be notified of the status of their proposal the following day.
